Most of my paintings are inspired by a memory - something I saw when I walked the beach - or in this case, was on a sailboat. The stormy weather memory came from a walk in the desert where you can be dry as a pin and yet, see a magnificient rain cloud start up with a downpour. Such was the case in this painting, ie., a merge of 2 memories. The original painting sold several years ago. It was 40”X30” and visitors from Scotland saw in person then couldnt quite get it out of their memory. I’ve always wanted to try another version, perhaps this is the start of a new series : rain bursts.
